Company adds third Omet converting line to Connecticut site

Mercantile Development Inc. has expanded production of napkins and wipers with the addition of an Omet converting lines. This fully automated line offers converters easy and rapid changeover on the same machine, drastically decreasing machine stops. “OMET has a decades-long track record of providing personalized solutions to help us meet ambitious productivity and customer satisfaction goals,” says Calla Fankhanel, vice president of operations at MDI. “The new OMET Americas service hub has strengthened our partnership and made the decision to add yet another OMET production line an easy one. OMET’s modular design for removable cassette folding heads provides endless possibilities for tooling combinations. That flexibility helps us meet wide-ranging customer needs in a small production footprint.” The OMET TV503 line is the third OMET line acquired by the MDI. MDI manufactures its Pro-Series wipes at a 140,000 square foot facility in Shelton, CT.
